Terms and Conditions

Intrepid — Mobile Applications

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of all mobile applications (“Apps”) developed and operated by Intrepid (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including but not limited to:

  • AuraSpend — Expense tracking & financial intelligence
  • GlassWords — AI-powered vocabulary learning
  • InboxSync — SMS-to-Gmail synchronization

By downloading, installing, or using any of our Apps, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use our Apps. By using the Apps, you confirm you meet this requirement.

2. Description of Services

Our Apps provide the following services:

AuraSpend — Personal expense tracking with manual and automated logging, receipt scanning, voice-to-expense input, AI-powered categorization, budget analytics, cloud synchronization, and predictive spending analysis.

GlassWords — Vocabulary learning with AI-generated flashcards, conversational AI tutor, text-to-speech pronunciation, quizzes, gamification (XP, streaks, achievements, leaderboards), social features (friends, activity feed), and themed word packs across 12 languages.

InboxSync — Automatic SMS backup to Gmail via Google APIs, contact name resolution, deduplication, background sync, CSV export, and cloud backup of sync state to Google Drive.

3. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Payments

3.1 Free and Premium Tiers

Our Apps offer both free and premium tiers. Certain features require an active subscription or one-time purchase.

3.2 Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

Where offered, premium subscriptions are auto-renewable with the following terms:

  • Plans may be offered on a monthly or annual basis, at the prices displayed at the time of purchase
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account upon confirmation
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device’s App Store or Google Play Store account settings
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited upon purchasing a subscription

3.3 One-Time Purchases & Tips

Some Apps offer one-time purchases (e.g., theme unlocks, add-ons) or voluntary tip jars. These are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or platform policies.

3.4 Rewarded Advertisements

Some Apps offer optional rewarded advertisements (e.g., video ads in exchange for bonus features). Ads are served by Google AdMob. You are never required to watch ads to use core functionality.

3.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription pricing. Changes take effect at the start of the next billing period. Continued use constitutes agreement to the updated price.

3.6 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective policies. We do not process refunds directly.

4. AI-Powered Features and Data Processing

4.1 Third-Party AI Service

Certain Apps use Google Gemini, a third-party artificial intelligence service provided by Google LLC, to power features including:

  • AuraSpend: Voice-to-expense transcription, receipt image scanning, smart categorization, and predictive spending analysis
  • GlassWords: AI vocabulary generation, conversational AI tutor (“Lina”), word pack generation, audio transcription

4.2 Data Sent to AI Service

When you use AI-powered features, the following data may be processed by Google Gemini:

  • Voice recordings and audio input
  • Images (e.g., receipts, photos)
  • Text content (e.g., expense descriptions, chat messages)
  • Location context (for merchant identification)
  • Learning progress and preferences (for personalized tutoring)

4.3 User Consent

You will be prompted to provide explicit consent before any personal data is sent to the AI service. You may decline, in which case AI-powered features will be disabled, but all other App functionality remains available. You can manage your AI consent in the App’s settings at any time.

4.4 AI Limitations

AI-generated results are provided as suggestions and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming AI-generated content.

5. Data Access and Permissions

5.1 Device Permissions

Our Apps may request access to device features necessary for their functionality:

  • Camera — Receipt scanning, image capture
  • Microphone — Voice input, audio recording
  • Location — Merchant identification, contextual features
  • Notifications — Alerts, reminders, expense detection
  • SMS — Reading SMS messages for backup and sync (InboxSync only)
  • Contacts — Contact name resolution in message subjects (InboxSync only)

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device’s settings.

5.2 Google Account Access

Some Apps request access to your Google Account via OAuth for specific functionality:

  • Gmail API — Archiving synced SMS as emails under a dedicated label (InboxSync)
  • Google Drive — Cloud backup of sync state (InboxSync)
  • Google Sign-In — Authentication and cloud sync (all Apps)

We only request the minimum scopes necessary for each feature. We do not read, modify, or delete any data beyond what is required for the stated functionality.

5.3 Cloud Synchronization

If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored securely using Firebase services (provided by Google LLC). You may use our Apps without cloud sync, in which case all data remains stored locally on your device.

5.4 Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you input into our Apps. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when using the Apps
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Use the Apps only for their intended lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Apps
  • Not use the Apps for any fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Not harass, impersonate, or harm other users through social features

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of our Apps — including design, graphics, text, logos, and code — are the exclusive property of Intrepid and are protected by international intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our Apps are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • AI-generated content or calculations will be perfectly accurate
  • The Apps will meet all of your specific requirements

AuraSpend is not a financial advisor. It provides tools for personal expense tracking and does not constitute financial, tax, or investment advice.

GlassWords is not a certified language education provider. It provides supplementary vocabulary learning tools and does not guarantee language fluency or certifications.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Intrepid shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Apps.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to any App at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Intrepid operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
